President Biden ’s reelection campaign announced Wednesday it is launching “Out for Biden-Harris,” a national effort to mobilize LGBTQ voters. The campaign touted the Biden administration as the “most pro-LGBTQ+ in history,” citing Biden’s reversal of a Trump-era ban on transgender people serving in the military, as well as Biden’s signing of the Respect for Marriage Act, enshrining marriage equality into federal law and granting protections for same-sex and interracial couples.
They were critical to our victory in 2020, and they will be critical to winning again this November,” Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a statement. She warned that former president Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, would “gut LGBTQ+ rights and erase history” if reelected.
