The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines on Tuesday said several power lines in Luzon and the Visayas were rendered unavailable due to Tropical Storm Kristine .As of 2 p.m., October 22, the NGCP said the following transmission lines are unavailable:LuzonPitogo-Mulanay 69kV Line - Date/Time Out: October 22, 2024 / 9:44 a.m., customer affected: QUEZELCO IVisayasParanas - Quinapondan 69kV Line - Date/Time Out: October 22, 2024 / 12:55 a.m.
Meralco The Manila Electric Company , meanwhile, assured its customers that its personnel are ready to respond to electricity service concerns that may arise due to Tropical Storm Kristine.Meralco said it is closely monitoring the weather situation as parts of its franchise area have been placed under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1.“Our crews are on standby 24/7, ready to respond to any possible electricity service concern,” said Meralco head of Corporate Communications Joe Zaldarriaga.
