In a significant step towards sainthood, Pope Francis has recognized a miracle attributed to Blessed Carlo Acutis, a young layman known for his devotion and modern evangelization efforts.
The approved miracle involves a Costa Rican woman, Liliana, who prayed to Blessed Carlo Acutis after her daughter, Valeria, suffered a severe head injury from a bicycle accident. Born on May 3, 1991, in London and passing away on October 12, 2006, in Monza, Italy, due to leukemia, Carlo Acutis was beatified by Pope Francis in 2020.Carlo is celebrated for his deep faith and adept use of technology to spread Catholic teachings, earning him the title of the “patron saint of the Internet.”Pope Francis also acknowledged a miracle attributed to Blessed Giuseppe Allamano, founder of the Consolata Missionaries.
Additionally, the Pope recognized a miracle attributed to Venerable Giovanni Merlini, an Italian priest.
