The Commission on Election will give P2,000 in additional honoraria to each poll worker who encountered issues and delays during the 2022 elections
At a press briefing, Commissioner George Garcia said the additional pay would be given to poll workers in 2,308 precincts that experienced malfunctions in vote counting machines and SD cards.
Garcia apologized to concerned teachers as the Commission could not provide the amount sought by the Department of Education for the additional pay.
Comelec acting spokesperson Rex Laudiangco said that poll workers who experienced any kinds of issue, not only involving VCMs and SD cards, would receive the extra compensation. So all issues—VCM, SD cards, procedural—na naka-experience ng delay sinama na po namin sila lahat sila ay ico-compensate na,” he said.in the recently concluded elections.
