The Florida officers spent more than three hours cleaning up the cancer patient's backyard.
Nine police officers volunteered to create a “virtual oasis” for a cancer patient, so she could enjoy nature in her backyard.
On Sunday, deputies from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in Naples, Fla., pitched in to clean up the yard of a woman “battling an aggressive cancer,” spending three hours pressure-washing her home and the brick in her backyard. They also tended to her garden with 100 bags of mulch, which they personally paid for.
The homeowner’s identity was not made public, but she is a family friend of Corporal Dean Peck, one of the volunteers, according to a department Facebook post. After first delivering flowers to the woman, Peck “left that day feeling he wanted to do more” and wanted to “spruce up” her yard. He shared the plan with fellow officers, who all donated their time and effort, together with six other volunteers.
