A 21-year-old man has been arrested on accusations of being involved in a Salt Lake City shooting that seriously injured a 55-year-old woman.
Salt Lake City Police officers said this investigation began at 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, when dispatch received reports about a shooting in the Glendale neighborhood near Concord Street and California Avenue. Officers responded and learned that two people approached the home and began shooting into it for an unknown reason. At least one bullet reportedly traveled into the residence, striking a 55-year-old woman.She was transported to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers stated that detectives with the agency’s Gang Unit arrested Sam Keith Maez Ripley on Friday, Aug. 30. He was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on one count of aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury, possessing a dangerous weapon as a restricted person, and 14 counts of felony discharge of a firearm resulting in serious bodily injury.
