A 78-year-old man has been identified as the driver who died in a head-on collision between two motor homes on the Seward Highway that also injured several others this week.

Angel Rivera of Anchorage was driving a motor home heading south on the Seward Highway on Monday when it collided with a northbound motor home near Indian just after 3 p.m., police. He was taken to a hospital by medics and later died, police said. A woman who was in the vehicle with him was also taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The woman driving the northbound motor home and a youth passenger in that vehicle were taken to the hospital for what police also described as non-life-threatening injuries. Two other people in the motor home had minor injuries, according to police. No charges or citations had been issued as of Wednesday afternoon, a spokeswoman for the police department said.
