QUEZON City police on Thursday filed criminal charges against five suspects in the hazing death of a criminology student. This, as BGen. Redrico Maranan, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, warned 11 other officers and members of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity to surrender or face arrest.

'It would be better for them to surrender, shed light on what happened and face the criminal charges that would be filed against them,' Maranan said. Just the same, he said a manhunt operation is being conducted for the possible identification and arrest of the other suspects. The QCPD chief said that there could possibly be more names, aside from the 11 others, who were already identified, as being behind last Oct.

He said the QCPD's Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit filed before the city's prosecutor's office charges in violation of Republic Act 11053 or the Anti-Hazing Law of 2018 and robbery against Justin Cantillo, 20; and Mark Leo Andales, 20, both fraternity's deputy grand treskilion; and Kyle Michael De Castro, 21; Lexer Angelo Manarpies, 20; and Xavier Arcosa, 18.
