Pearland police arrest a student accused of possessing a firearm on Tuesday.
Pearland ISD released a statement that said a student was arrested at Sablatura Middle School for possession of a firearm and terroristic threat on Tuesday morning.Pearland police arrested a student Tuesday who is accused of having a gun that morning at Sablatura Middle School.
The student was placed in custody after being arrested for possessions of a firearm in places weapons prohibited and terroristic threat,The school's administration received a tip in the morning that a student had a gun at school, and school officials immediately located the student, obtained the weapon and notified the police, according to a statement from Pearland ISD.Further details about the incident were unavailable at presstime.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident, according to the police statement. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police department at 281-997-4100. In its statement, the school district encouraged students to talk to a teacher, school administration or another trusted adult about"if he or she hears or sees anything out of the ordinary."
