The Philippine National Police (PNP) apprehended the leader and four members of a notorious gun-for-hire group operating in Nueva Ecija in what is dubbed as a major victory in PNP’s anti-criminality campaign.

The suspects were identified as Ronnie Hernandez, Alfred Ledezma, Joey Pangilinan, Myra Hernandez and Liezel Awing. The five suspects were apprehended aboard a blue Toyota Vios with plate number Z2 M269 that was flagged down in an anti-criminality checkpoint put up by the joint police team in Barangay Sto. Rosario, Aliaga, Nueva Ecija.Pangilinan and Ledezma each yielded a .45 caliber pistol, a hand grenade, magazines and ammunition.
“The arrest of the leaders and members of the Hernandez Group is a significant blow to organized crime in our country. This operation reflects the relentless efforts of our police forces to ensure the safety and security of our communities. We will continue to be vigilant in our fight against criminal elements and bring them to justice,” PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. said.
