Earlier in the briefing, Abalos made a surprise announcement as he called for the courtesy resignation of all police colonel and generals, based on fears that many high-ranking officials are already part of drug syndicates.
“It is just an appeal. Number two, ginawa na ito no’ng 1992, if I’m not mistaken, by general, president Ramos. Remember, no’ng nagkaroon ng issue tungkol sa, I think it was the uniform, pinag-resign nila,” Abalos said. He also vowed that officials would not be beholden to him or to Azurin, as both of them would not be part of the committee.
