Celebration with origins in Hindu legends is marked with a riot of colors in the air as participants throw gulal at Mission San Jose High School in Fremont.
Color was in the air and all over people’s clothes, hair and faces as hundreds gathered Saturday to celebrate Holi at Mission San Jose High School. Bollywood music played and gulal, a colorful powder made from a mixture of starch and dyes, was sold near the entrance. Stalls and food trucks offered all sorts of fare as participants celebrated the festival with riots of colors.
