A juvenile was arrested Thursday after a loaded handgun was discovered in his backpack at Mountain Pointe High School, according to Phoenix police.
An administrative search led to the discovery of the weapon within the school near 44th Street and Ray Road in Ahwatukee, police said. The on-duty school resource officer responded and completed a weapons investigation which led to the arrest of the student by Phoenix police. Phoenix police said no prior threats were reported to the school or police related to this incident.
