He and Benavidez have taken verbal jabs at each other, especially since Benavidez defeated Lemieux and announced after the fight that Plant was among those on his short list of next opponents. The Benavidez camp has had Plant on its radar for months, but wasn't sure if Plant would accept the challenge.
