Recto Bank, part of the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone , is believed to contain around 165 million barrels of oil and 3.4 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. Meanwhile, fisherfolk group Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas expressed disappointment over China’s vow to find a “compromise” that would allow Filipino fishermen to fish in the West Philippine Sea.
