The nationwide COVID-19 positivity rate dropped to 5.7% on Saturday, according to independent monitoring group OCTA Research on Sunday.

Data shared by OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David showed that the Philippines’ positivity rate — or the percentage of people who were found positive for COVID-19 among the total number of individuals tested — went down from 5.9% on January 6, toThis was after the Department of Health registered 752 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, which brought the active caseload to 12,518.

With this trend, OCTA is projecting 350 to 450 new COVID-19 infections to be recorded nationwide on Sunday.
