The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) has approved a new wage order granting a P33 increase in the daily minimum wage of workers in the private sector in Zamboanga Peninsula. This new wage order, effective December 12, 2024, sets the daily minimum wage for non-agricultural establishments at P414 and P401 for agricultural establishments.
THE Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board has approved a new wage order granting a P33 increase in the daily minimum wage of workers in the private sector in Zamboanga Peninsula .Albert Gutib, Department of Labor and Employment regional director, said the daily minimum wage increase in contained in wage order number 23 approved on November 11, 2024.
Joel Ijirani, RTPWB secretary, said the Board, motu propio, commenced the minimum wage determination process on September 13, 2024, since there was no petition filed for a wage adjustment.Ijirani said the Board conducted a region-wide consultation on October 2, 2024 in Zamboanga City.
