One down, two to go. Gordon Murray's new campus is on track for completion by the end of 2024 🏗
in June 2021, the firm has announced that topping out is complete for phase one. Which, if you also don’t know about building stuff, means the last bit of the structure is in place. Not bad going.
The completion of phase one means the whole project - comprised of three buildings and 140,000 square feet - is set for completion at the end of 2024. Once finished, the new HQ will be the central hub for Gordon Murray Automotive and Gordon Murray Technology, with design, manufacturing, sales, and servicing all based in Surrey. The next two phases of the £50m project will see 100 more jobs created as the engineering and development buildings come together.
Gordon Murray said of the topping out: “We are incredibly excited to reach this significant milestone. Constructing our innovative new campus has been planned for over three years and we have worked tirelessly getting to this significant stage for the last 18 months. We are now celebrating the first chapter in completing this state-of-the-art facility, which will attract world-class talent and demonstrates the strength of the Gordon Murray Group as we prepare for even greater success.
He continued: “We are entering the next stage of the Highams Park project with much anticipation and I know it will be a fantastic new home for the Gordon Murray Group family and a great facility for our customers to visit.”
