The Houston Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a man found at a bus stop in southeast Houston.

The 27-year-old victim, identified as Dexter Watson, was found by METRO Police Department officers in the 7900 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard at about 4:40 a.m. on Aug. 7. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. On Sept. 6, detectives and Watson’s mother held a news conference at HPD Headquarters to make a plea to the public for any information on the suspect responsible for the shooting. Investigators said they believe the shooting happened just after midnight, which was several hours before Watson’s body was spotted by someone passing by.
Detectives said they gathered surveillance video and saw a small group of people in the area where Watson was found. One of them, who was seen on a bicycle, is featured in a photo that was released by detectives. Police are urging the man to come forward to determine if he has additional information on the victim’s murder.
