Stephen Weiss, 60, was arrested Monday on charges of attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, importuning and possessing criminal tools. Weiss is the rabbi at B’nai Jeshurun Congregation.

Court records show Weiss posted a $50,000 bond on Tuesday. Weiss must wear an ankle monitor as a condition of his bond, records say.Weiss’ attorney, Michael Goldberg, declined to comment by phone Tuesday. Jay Ross, the synagogue’s executive director, also declined to comment. He is a former president of a regional chapter of the United Synagogue Youth, which describes itself as the youth movement of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
