UNDERWATER: Emergency crews responded to a massive water main break in Texas that flooded a Houston freeway, trapped some motorists in their vehicles and snarled traffic.
Water rushes by a gas station at Clinton and N. Carolina in Houston after a broken water pipe starting flooding of East Loop 610 Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020.
The flooding submerged vehicles on an eastern section of Loop 610, a highway that circles the city. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted early Thursday afternoon that all occupants were out of flooded vehicles. The fire department said on Twitter that it had rescued three people and searched and cleared 12 vehicles.
