The final list placed Philadelphia in the fourth overall spot in terms of its Irish-ness, and third overall in both the “Community” and “Organizations” categories. The city was also found to have the fourth most Irish pubs and restaurantsPittsburgh, too, had luck enough to crack the top 10 with its number six overall ranking. It was also fifth in just the “Community” category as well. The Steel City also has one of the largest Irish populations in the U.S. .
Fleshing out the top five in the general rankings list was San Francisco, Calif. ; Boston, Mass. ; Chicago, Ill. ; and New York, N.Y. . “The Big Apple is our Most Irish City this year, leaving our previous gold medalist, Boston, green with envy,” reads the study. “How did New York riverdance its way to the top spot?
