A fatal crash Saturday night continues a grim start to the new year in San Jose, with 9 people, including six pedestrians, killed in eight crashes so far in 2022.
A pedestrian died Saturday evening in a hit-and-run crash in San Jose, marking the latest death in a string of traffic fatalities to hit the city.
The person was struck around 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of N. Jackson Avenue, according to the San Jose Police Department. The person was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead. No other details of the crash were immediately released, including the name and age of the person killed.
