Pearland takes an eight-game winning streak into the 4 p.m. championship meeting with Flower Mound ,The Chaparrals , who lost just once in the postseason back in the regional quarterfinals against Round Rock, had previously allowed just eight runs in their last six games. On Friday, they used four different pitchers who allowed a combined 12 hits.
But Pearland sophomore righthander Nico Partida, an Arizona State commit, settled in nicely as the Oilers piled up runs in his favor during the third and fifth innings to run away from Westlake.Pearland took a 4-1 lead in the top of the third as eight batters came to the plate.
