THE Philippine Coast Guard has partnered with the United States Marines to identify vulnerable coastal areas and assess threats for maritime safety, marine environmental protection and maritime security within the Caraga region.The head of of Coast Guard District North Eastern Mindanao , Commodore Eduardo de Luna Jr.
Maritime domain awareness also involves increasing the capacity to identify activities going on in a particular area with the idea that one would be able to respond to any threats.The PCG had established a center for recruitment in Butuan City to significantly help in boosting the Coast Guard's presence and delivery of public service in the region.
