PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has assured that the Philippines will continue to have strong relations with the United States of America under his leadership.
“[Echoing the commitment of the US to the Philippines, our country is also committed to yours, and to the continuing relationship between our two countries in many dimensions and its multifaceted nature],” Marcos Jr. told Carlson. The two countries established formal diplomatic relations on July 4, 1946 when the Philippines gained its status as an independent and sovereign state. Both have expanded and deepened bilateral cooperation in many fields, including defense and security, trade and commerce, as well as culture and education.
