President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. has approved the promotion of the chief information officer of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to one star general along with four other senior police officials. ManilaBulletin READ:
“I wish to inform you that, per the endorsement of the chairperson of the Civil Service Commission and as recommended by the National Police Commission … the promotion of Police Colonel Redrico Atienza Maranan to the next higher rank of Police Brigadier General is hereby approved,” Marcos’ letter to Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos read.
Maranan, Lucas and Mariano are all members of the PNP Academy Class of 1995 while Arevalo is a member of the PNPA Class of 1994. Gurat belongs to PNPA Class 1992.
