The suspected driver, 20, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter following the crash on state Route 76 near Loretta Street
The crash happened shortly after 11 p.m. on westbound state Route 76 near Loretta Street, Oceanside police Sgt. Clint Bussey said. The driver, identified by police as Dejuhan Jones, a 20-year-old Oceanside resident, lost control and the vehicle rolled, Bussey said.
The vehicle’s passenger, a 22-year-old man from Oceanside, was thrown from the vehicle and suffered major injuries, including head trauma.
