As a Christmas surprise to teachers in Pasig City, Mayor Vico Sotto announced that all teaching and non-teaching personnel belonging to the Schools Division Office will receive an increase in their allowances starting January, 2023.From P3,000, teaching personnel will soon each get a P4,000 monthly allowance from the local government.Sotto reiterated the local government’s readiness to offer its services for the education sector ever since he began his term in 2019.
The mayor also expressed his gratitude to the 11th City Council, led by Vice Mayor Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr., for approving and supporting the allowance increase and other education programs. He thanked the SDO officials and members for their diligence and sacrifices in managing the transition from distance learning to face-to-face that was experienced by teachers and learners alike throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.Sotto reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to aid teachers in their professional development and financial capacity in order to ensure the continuous improvement of the quality of education in Pasig City.
