Rubiano said before the jailbreak, the city government already told the police to rehabilitate their detention cells for safety and ensure the orderliness of the facilities.
She said the city government is investigating the incident to find out who will be held responsible for the lapses concerning the security and operational contingencies in jail facilities. Meanwhile, the mayor also assured the locals that the jailbreak will never happen again and that all the facilities will be checked by the police to make sure that all facilities are in compliant with her directives.
Rubiano directed the police to execute a more stringent, reliable, and secure policy to maintain safety and orderliness in the city’s detention facilities. She also said the city government has allocated funds for the rehabilitation of jail facilities and that it is willing to augment if additional funds will be needed.
