With assistance from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and police departments in the area, the Park Ridge Police Department led an investigation into and arrest of a Wheeling man who was charged with machine gun, cannabis, amphetamine, cocaine and other charges, according to police.
Andy Bardesi Mozo, 24, of the 0-100 block of Buckboard Drive, Wheeling, was arrested on May 10 at approximately 10 a.m., according to Park Ridge police. They said a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force executed a search warrant at Bardesi Mozo’s residence, and Bardesi Mozo attempted to flee on foot with a backpack and was apprehended a short distance later. Law enforcement seized two guns, one classified as a machine gun, and a large amount of cash and narcotics during the search.
Park Ridge police said the search was the result of an ongoing narcotics investigation with assistance from the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System Emergency Services Team and the Wheeling Police Department. The DEA Chicago Field Division assisted in the investigation, according to Public Information Officer Luis Agostini.
