The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that Amang weakened into an LPA at 8 a.m. on April 13. In its 11 a.m. update, weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said the LPA was last spotted over the coastal waters of Polillo Island, and it could dissipate by Friday.
Amang first hit land in Panganiban, Catanduanes then in Presentacion, Camarines Sur. It made another landfall in Lagonoy, Camarines Sur at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Before Amang weakened into an LPA, PAGASA raised Signal No. 1 over the northern and western portions of Camarines Norte, the southern portion of Aurora, and the northern and eastern portions of Quezon, including Pollilo Islands.
