The state weather bureau said raising Wind Signal No. 1 over Batanes is 'no longer ruled out,' adding that Typhoon Falcon is maintaining its strength.

In its 5 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Falcon is potentially at its peak intensity.

The bureau said it expects rains in the next three days over the western portion of Luzon due to the southwest monsoon enhanced by Falcon. On Wednesday, gusty conditions will also occur in Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Region, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, the western portion of Northern Samar, and most of Cordillera Administrative Region and Western Visayas.

"Mariners of small seacrafts are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing over these waters. If inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels, avoid navigating in these conditions," PAGASA warned.
