They are 16-10 in games decided by one or two runs, the majors’ fifth-best record in such games. They have come back to win 14 games, tied for second most. They have played the most extra-inning games and won more of those games than any team. “I would say we would have to get some really, really good starting pitching if you were to tell me that,” he said. “That’s exactly what has happened.”
“I think it’s pretty impressive for us not to swing the bats the way we expected to be winning as much as we are,” starting pitcher Joe Musgrove said. “I think we’re in a good spot.”
