Load factors, or the percentage of sits filled by paying passengers, likely are to run above 85% during the holiday travel period. For all practical purposes that means most flights will be packed to full or near-full with passengers. That’s because airlines typically operate very late night flights that are less than half full primarily to get those planes into position to start the next day’s operations.
