Erique Collington remains in the Allegheny County Jail, according to police.
An 18-year-old identified as a suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred in downtown Pittsburgh is facing new weapon charges connection to a SWAT situation back in December.
Erique Collington remains in the Allegheny County Jail after being accused of shooting and killing Eugene Nance, 23, on Thursday, according toAccording to a recent criminal complaint, police said Collington was one of 16 people removed from an Airbnb along Brighton Road on Dec. 19. Collington didn’t have a weapon on him after being patted down, but surveillance footage from inside, and posts from Collington’s Facebook account, showed him with a short-barrel rifle, according to police., Collington was seen holding the gun on multiple occasions and carrying it into the room where officers found it.
As a minor, Collington was not permitted to carry a firearm and was already caught with one back in 2021. These charges are in addition to several he’s facing in the downtown shooting including criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy, and tampering with physical evidence.
