'It was very crude,' Laconia Police Chief Matt Canfield said. 'It was a Corona beer bottle that had a wick in it. Certainly, it represented a Molotov cocktail. Fortunately, it did not ignite.'
A man has been arrested after he was accused of traveling from Pennsylvania to New Hampshire to threaten a woman he met online. He's also accused of trying to burn down her house.According to court paperwork, the woman and Andrew Benavides had never met in person, but he allegedly traveled to New Hampshire to seek revenge after she ended the relationship.Police said surveillance video taken by the homeowner shows Benavides throwing something at the house at 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
'He made a number of threats to the victim, including criminal threatening type of statements,' Canfield said.Police said Benavides was so angry that he drove six hours from his home in Pennsylvania and allegedly made several attempts to damage the house.'In addition to the improvised Molotov cocktail, he also threw a rock that went through a living room window that landed inside the residence,' Canfield said.
