CAMP GEN. Laguna police director Police Col. Harold Depositar identified the suspects “Jerome” and “Christopher.”Lawmen asked for the motorcycle registration and driver’s license and requested Jerome to open his backpack.
Jerome opened the backpack and police saw a water pipe, prompting them to continue inspecting its contents but the suspect refused, resulting in a physical confrontation. Police later on found a caliber .45 pistol, a caliber .22 magnum revolver, bullets, and seven plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 400 grams worth P2.7 million in the bag.
Suspects are under the custody of the police here and face drug-related and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in relation to the gun ban. Depositar said: “We will further intensify the implementation of Comelec checkpoints in the province of Laguna to ensure security and order for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan election . This is proof that the Laguna PNP is becoming stricter in conducting the Comelec checkpoint.”
