A total of 756,083 poll workers have been designated to monitor the conduct of the May 9, 2022 elections, the Department of Education (DepEd) said Friday.
At a press conference, DepEd Undersecretary Alain Pascua said that around 90% of 647,812 of the total number are personnel from the department.
Of the DepEd personnel, Pascua said 319,317 are electoral boards ; 200,627 EB support staff; 38,989 DepEd supervisor officials; ; 87,162 DESO support staff; and 1,717 board of canvassers.Also, Pascua said the DepEd created a separate group, the DepEd Election Task Force, to address concerns of teachers and schools amid the polls. He noted that the task force is not mobilized by the Comelec but the DepEd.
