Health authorities said they have detected at least 346 COVID-19 cases in Ilocos provinces between May 28 and June 3, marking the second week that the number of additional infections in the region surpassed the 300-mark. | jmichaelmgsINQ /PDI

The health care utilization rate continued to be in the “safe” zone despite the rise in COVID-19 cases in the past week, according to the weekly advisory released on Monday by the regional office of the Department of Health.Data showed that the infections raised to 539 the active COVID-19 cases in the region as of Monday.

At least 13 percent of the 184 intensive care unit beds set aside for suspect, probable, and confirmed cases, had been occupied.
