NEW YORK — The Philippine Embassy in Washington, DC has issued a warning to Filipinos residing in Florida, particularly in Tampa, where powerful Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall late Wednesday or early Thursday morning .According to the Philippine Embassy, the safety of Filipino nationals is their top priority, and they are closely monitoring the situation of Filipinos in the area through the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Florida.
As reported by the National Hurricane Center, Milton has wind speeds exceeding 181 miles per hour and is expected to cause a storm surge of up to 12 feet along the West Coast of Florida.In Hurricane Advisory Number 11, released at 4 p.m. on Monday by the Central Pacific Hurricane Center, it was stated that Hurricane Milton is expected to grow in size while approaching Florida.
