THE Office of the Solicitor General on Monday filed a petition for quo warranto before the Regional Trial Court of Manila City questioning the validity of Alice Guo’s assumption as Bamban, Tarlac Mayor on the ground of ineligibility based on citizenship.
The OSG specifically prayed that Guo be declared ineligible to hold the Office of Mayor of Bamban, Tarlac and be declared to have committed acts that warrant her forfeiture of position as mayor. The OSG earlier filed a petition before a court seeking the cancellation of Guo’s birth certificate for her failure to comply with the legal requirements for late registration.
All these suits against Guo stemmed from extensive investigations and joint operations led by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission and the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group on Pogo hubs in Bamban.
