A Berkeley man, who is from Kyiv, says public demonstrations against the war and Russian President Putin continue to inspire civilians and troops alike in Ukraine. He was among the several dozen demonstrators who hit the streets Saturday in solidarity.
Tregub has dedicated his time to lead relief efforts and march with his bay area neighbors in demonstrations like this one to stand in defiance of Putin’s aggression.
“Everyone back there is very grateful for the visibility, turnout and solidarity that is being put together by the good people of the Bay Area,” said Tregub. “We’re going to go to San Leandro. We’re going to go to Livermore. We’re going to go to Pleasanton,” said Helena Straughter, Alameda County Democratic Party organizer.
