was appointed as the junior senator for the state of Georgia, residents presumably hoped, among other things, that if—and this is just a for instance—she was briefed about a deadly pandemic threatening to wreak havoc on the United States, her first move would be to warn her constituents and to demand a plan of action from her colleagues and the president.
