A 47-year-old Ontario man is facing several charges, including drug trafficking offences, after being found asleep behind the wheel — via TheGrowthOp cannabisnews
Upon locating the vehicle, responding officers awoke the man and reportedly found large quantities of cocaine, fentanyl and cash.
Along with drug trafficking offences, the man was also charged with possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000 and having control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available. His vehicle was also impounded and his licence was suspended for 90-days.Article contentAfter receiving a tip from the public about a possibly impaired driver, members of the Brantford Police Service located the vehicle in a parking lot with the driver apparently unconscious man.
The man was arrested after failing a drug evaluation and charged with operation while impaired. The man, 40, was charged with six offences, including possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, as well as possession of hydromorphone and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking after officers recovered cocaine, hydromorphone and nearly $5K in cash from the vehicle., the rules for transporting cannabis in a vehicle are similar to transporting alcohol. Mainly, that the cannabis is unopened and not readily available to anyone in the vehicle.
