Will “Butter” or “Permission to Dance” lead the Hot 100 next week? Either way, it’s going to be a very special time for BTS.
... [+]BTS fans are currently buying and streaming the band’s new song “Permission to Dance” in massive numbers, doing what they can to ensure the tune secures a lofty debut on’s Hot 100 chart next week. The track is performing extremely well on YouTube, streaming sites like Spotify and Apple Music, and it consistently tops iTunes, so the title stands a good shot at earning an impressive start on the tally when it refreshes in a few days...
If “Permission to Dance” debuts at No. 1, the song will help BTS make history in many different ways. It will become their fifth champion on the tally, and the band will stand out as one of only a handful of artists to claim four immediate rulers on the most competitive singles list in the country. The tune will help them prove once again that they are one of the most successful groups of all time in America , and it will add to their ever-growing list of proper smashes in the U.S.
At this point, it already seems like “Permission to Dance” is all but guaranteed to debut inside the top 10, if not at No. 1. If they fail to reach the summit on their first try with the new track, BTS will still be able to claim another top 10 smash to their credit, and seeing the summer-ready release arrive anywhere between Nos. 1 and 10 would be a major accomplishment for the South Korean septet...but that only tells part of the story of their possible success next week.
