One man was killed and two others wounded in Oakland shootings Friday night.
OAKLAND — One man was killed and two other men were wounded, one critically, in a pair of shootings less than two hours apart Friday night in East Oakland, authorities said.The fatal shooting, which claimed the life of a 20-year-old man whose name has not been released, happened about 11:46 p.m. Friday in a parking lot at 30th Avenue and International Boulevard, authorities said.
Police said the victim was shot after getting into a dispute with another man who fled the scene before officers got there. The man died at the scene.The double shooting happened about 10:09 p.m. in the 2400 block of Foothill Boulevard. A 30-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and was in critical condition at a hospital, authorities said. Another man who was with him was shot in the leg and was in stable condition at a hospital.The fatal shooting is the 55th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. The California Highway Patrol has also investigated four killings on Oakland freeways. Last year at this time police had investigated 66 homicides in the city.
