MANILA, Philippines — Blitzing her way to glory, Filipino-American Lauren Hoffman was seconds shy of meeting the Olympic standard, but remained dominant after topping the women's 400-meter hurdles of the ICTSI-Philippine Athletics Championships at the PhilSports track oval in Pasig on Friday, May 10.
MANILA, Philippine s — Blitzing her way to glory, Filipino-American Lauren Hoffman was seconds shy of meeting the Olympic standard, but remained dominant after topping the women's 400-meter hurdles of the ICTSI- Philippine Athletics Championships at the PhilSports track oval in Pasig on Friday, May 10. The Olympic hopeful clocked in 55.92 seconds, enough to cop the gold medal. She was just seconds away of reaching the Olympic standard of 54.85 in the event.
Despite a dominant finish, Hoffman quickly assessed her performance and shared that she was a little slower down the curb. 'I think it was a little slower than what I needed to be. Again, it's kind of hard for competitors to run twice in one day, especially for the 400m hurdles, it was one thing with the 100m hurdles it was shorter. This is a brutal race,' Hoffman told the press.
