An old, tricked-out Mace Windu has taken out Boba Fett in sick Star Wars art from Tilianjpg
A new piece of Star Wars fan art imagines an older version of Samuel L. Jackson’s Mace Windu, complete with a trophy taken from a fight against Boba Fett, in a hypothetical What If? series. While Boba would eventually grow to become one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy, he once swore vengeance against the Jedi Master for the death of his father, Jango Fett.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Now a new piece of fan art from Tilian Creative imagines what an older Mace Windu would look like had he indeed survived. Most tellingly, the artwork also shows the Jedi Master wearing the Tusken gaffi stick that Boba Fett acquired during The Book of Boba Fett, hinting at a previous confrontation between the two.
Blind in one eye and bearing a cybernetic hand to replace the one cut off by Anakin Skywalker, Jackson’s Mace Windu still looks every inch the formidable opponent despite his scars and advanced years. An empty Clone Trooper helmet at his feet testifies to his continued skill with his trademark purple lightsaber. Will Samuel L.
While Windu would never actually appear during Disney’s new sequel trilogy, many are still eager to see the fan-favorite Jedi Master somehow make his return in live action. These hopes have been bolstered even further by Jackson’s own outspoken desire to reprise his role and return to the Star Wars universe.
Of course, the one drawback to reintroducing an older version of Mace Windu into the timeline of The Mandalorian would be explaining his absence during the events of the original trilogy. It would be hard to imagine Windu going into self-imposed exile during the years of the Empire’s reign, and surely the Jedi Master would have made his presence felt if he were still alive and able to fight against Palpatine’s forces.
