Emeka Egbuka was helped off the field with 13:49 remaining in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game against Maryland. On the previous play he made an 8-yard reception to convert a first down. He attempted to cross the field, but eventually went down to the turf and was tended to by OSU medical personnel.
Egbuka was taken to the medical tent on the sideline. His ability to return to play wasn’t immediately clear. He is also OSU’s primary punt returner.
In the Buckeyes’ previous game at Notre Dame on Sept. 23, Marvin Harrison Jr. suffered an ankle injury while blocking on TreVeyon Henderson’s 61-yard touchdown run. He spent more time in the medical tent and had to have his right ankle heavily taped. However, he did not miss a snap and played the remainder of the game.Egbuka totaled 40 yards on three receptions, with one carry for 3 yards, before exiting.
